Portrait of Marlynna

Hello, I am Marlynna.

I specialise in supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, and self-esteem issues. I also work with relationship difficulties, work-related stress, and major life transitions, including career changes, relocation, and the journey into parenthood.

My approach is warm, reflective, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change flows from creating space for self-understanding, emotional healing, and personal growth. I work collaboratively with each client, drawing on their strengths and adapting my approach to support their unique journey.

My therapeutic style is integrative and person-centred, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Schema Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. I am also trained in Gottman Level 1 and Level 2 couples counselling. Through a personalised approach, I help individuals uncover new insights, reconnect with their inner strengths, and deepen their relationship with themselves and those around them.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a session?

Click the “Schedule a Call” button to schedule a free 15-minute call. It’s a chance to share what’s brought you here, ask any questions, and explore what working together might look like.

How long is each session, and how are they conducted?

Each counselling session lasts 60 minutes and is currently conducted online unless other arrangements are necessary.

What happens in the first session?

The first session usually involves an intake conversation, where I will learn more about you, your background, and the challenges you are facing. We will also discuss your goals for counselling and agree on how we can best work together.

How will I benefit from these sessions?

Counselling provides a safe and supportive space to reflect on personal challenges, build coping strategies, and gain new perspectives. I draw on evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and person-centred therapy. I also support couples, drawing on my training in the Gottman Method (Levels 1 and 2). All sessions are fully supervised to ensure you receive professional and ethical support.

Is my information private and confidential?

Yes. Everything you share in counselling sessions will be kept strictly confidential. There are a few limited exceptions, which I will explain and discuss with you during our first session.

What can I expect in ongoing sessions?

In each session, you can expect a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we’ll explore what matters most to you, clarify your goals, and use practical, evidence-based strategies to support your growth and well-being.

How many sessions can I attend?

The number of sessions will depend on your needs. Some clients attend a few sessions for specific issues, while others prefer longer-term support. We will review this together as counselling progresses.

Do I need to prepare for my first session?

Not at all. Simply come as you are. If you’d like, you may want to consider what you hope to gain from counselling, but it’s also perfectly fine if you are unsure, as we will explore this together.

What if I decide counselling isn’t right for me?

You are free to end counselling at any time. There is no obligation to continue if you feel it is not the right fit. I encourage open conversations about your experience so that we can make adjustments if needed or explore alternative forms of support together.

What if I need urgent help or crisis support?

These sessions are not designed for emergencies or crises. If you require immediate assistance, please contact the following services:

  • Mental Health Helpline (IMH) — Call: 1771
  • Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) — Call: 1767
  • Ambulance / Emergency Medical Services — Call: 995
